Is it just me, or are there a LOT of people who don’t understand how these naming conventions to work (Or to put it another way: Is it just me, or did the various auto manufacturers ACTUALLY think the average person would follow this?)
A lot of people I’ve spoken to don’t understand that the model designation with the FEWER letters/digits is the higher one.
It usually goes something like:
“The RCF is the faster/more expensive one”
“No there’s no way, that can’t be, see, it says RCF, and that one says RC250 F Sport! The other one just says F! It doesn’t even say Sport! Don’t you want the sporty one?”
“…”
Or
“Look, there is no M2, the M235i is the highest there will ever be.”
“Well what about M3, M4, M5, M6…?”
“Look, it says M235i! 235! i! What do you think is a higher number? Would you rather have 2 oranges or 235 oranges?”
“…”
And I’m sure there are many others, like Mercedes-AMG A45 vs Mercedes A250 “by AMG” or whatever.
It’s just funny how a lot of them are like this. I like how Audi does it: RS > S > A. Simple.

Driving an M235i, I get this a lot. Also, everyone seems to think it's the new M3.

I have a feeling that the M2 will be the new M3, so to speak; it should evoke the spirit of the old ones. The new one has gotten good reviews in terms of score, but the actual comments make it sound like it’s a brute-force kind of sports car…no where near as refined as older ones.
Hey if you don’t mind me asking, what part of Canada are you from? I made a topic a while ago about “What is the best Canadian province for motorists” and I don’t recall seeing you in there? Is there anything that makes your province great or terrible for being a motorist?

It’s the RC 350. There is no RC 250, F Sport or otherwise. There is an IS250, but that will soon be the IS 200 T.
There will be an RC 200T soon though. It will RWD, and turbo-ed.

I work for a Lexus dealer. I get calls all the time from people who have, “a 350”. Sigh....

I missed the post, sorry! I’m from Ottawa, but I’ve been living in Halifax for the past 4 years. The roads here are nice, mainly because of the coastal roads. They can sometimes be in really rough shape, which is a pain, but they can get really technical because of the terrain. They’re more exciting than the ones around Ottawa.
I also find that the speed limits here are a bit more generous, or at least realistic. The 60km/h limit on the river parkway in Ottawa is ridiculously slow. Same goes for the 80km/h zones they have on the Queensway (because of construction, I know, but people still do 120). Our highways here are 110km/h, and the rural roads don’t really get a lot of attention. We don’t have a provincial police force (a la Oops Police).
That being said, a large number of the drivers here are idiots. People stop for jaywalkers all the time, can’t parallel park, go the wrong way down one-way streets, and generally forget that the rules of the road are. It can get a bit frustrating. I’ve been to every Canadian province, and I can safely say that Nova Scotia has the worst drivers provincially, but Richmond, BC has the worst drivers municipally.
For car enthusiasts, we also have the Atlantic AutoPort, which is always full of exciting cars. You can get pretty up close to them. Usually, among the sea of Volvos, Audis, and BMWs, you get a handful of i8s, F-Types, Aston Martins, Alfa Romeos, and 911s.
If any Oppos come to the province, I can show them the nice roads.
The photo is of one of our more popular roads - the Cabot Trail. It’s watched closely by police, but still fun.
